Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by participating in the client's Safety Committee, following all policies/procedures, and complying with all legal codes and regulations
  • Maintain function and reliability of facility systems and equipment through the use of Preventive Maintenance program, operating and testing systems and equipment, diagnosing and specifying corrective actions, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty components, parts, and systems
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the maintenance department
  • Oversee contracting of all services required to maintain, repair, or upgrade grounds and facility
  • Exceed maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information, monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions
  • Organize and oversee schedules and work of team members
  • Act as buyer and purchase all required material/replacement parts
  • Exceed maintenance operational goals by minimizing downtime and improving productivity without sacrificing the client's quality objectives
  • Evaluate functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments, identifying problems/requirements, studying performance results, and identifying, recommending, and implementing changes and improvements
  • Hire and train maintenance department staff as required
  • Work with scrap vendors to negotiate the best prices for scrap and other waste materials
  • Develop, implement, and utilize equipment catalog in Preventative Maintenance system that catalogs all equipment and designates condition, risk, obsolescence, and replacement projections, and works with plant leadership to develop capital plan


CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Preventative Maintenance Software
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for equipment and building systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations
  • Ability to work successfully under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to, metalworking equipment such as CNC equipment/machinery, automation equipment, stamping machines, etc.
  • Ability to traverse property and facility to diagnose equipment building issues and plan repairs or maintenance
  • Ability to identify issues and determine necessary repairs and physically perform repairs when needed
  • Experience and working knowledge in utilizing an ERP and/or Management Execution System
  • Experience managing capital spend and operational budgeting


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar title in a manufacturing and/or heavy industrial environment, with frequent exposure to heavy machinery and/or equipment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred
