We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Instrumentation & Control Systems (I&CS) Design Engineer. As part of Corvallis, Oregon based Design Center team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients’ water challenges locally and worldwide.

You’ll get to work with our world-class Instrumentation and Control Systems team dedicated to protecting the most valuable asset in the world, water. You’ll get to work on projects on every aspect from design through onsite startup work. You will enjoy having the deepest technical resources in the industry to support you, access to international work, and Design-Build projects.
Using your experience, you'll lead the development of Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), control narratives, specifications, network drawings, panel drawings, and instrument selection. You’ll coordinate with other engineering disciplines for a cohesive design. You’ll also contribute to the development and growth of people (e.g. mentoring junior engineers) both domestically and globally. You’ll be able to develop control system software in Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces and perform facility startups and commissioning activities. As well, you will be able to review constructions submittals, conduct site evaluations, make recommendations for control system upgrades, and communicate with clients and management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or open to getting one
- Minimum of 12 years of experience:
- I/O list development
- Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development
- PLC equipment list development
- Detailed loop wiring diagrams
- Instrumentation selection
- I&C Systems Integration design experience.
- Control panel layout and wiring
- Ability to mentor, train, and delegate work to others domestically and abroad
- Ability to work outside normal work hours at times to coordinate with global team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Water infrastructure Instrumentation & Controls Systems design experience.
- Experience with PLCs and HMI programming software
