Humanaut is a brand production studio in Chattanooga, TN with a mission of getting good things inside people’s brains. We’re a project-based agency that makes breakthrough video content and advertising campaigns for brands we believe in, using a unique iterative creative process that incorporates strategy, creative concepting, in-house production and creative testing. Our method is designed to bypass traditional agency-client hand-wringing in order to arrive more quickly at effective, culturally relevant creative that is fully validated with the client’s target audience.

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to create and manage digital and print designs for our clients advertising needs. The Senior Graphic Designer's responsibilities include managing all graphic design tasks, refining projects and drafts, and generating creative ideas.

To be successful as a Senior Graphic Designer, you should have extensive knowledge of graphic design, styles, and techniques. You should also have experience in implementing marketing campaigns, management, and possess a clear understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.

Ultimately, an excellent Senior Graphic Designer will ensure that the design team promotes the vision of the company through high-quality graphic content.

Senior Graphic Designer Role & Responsibilities

• Create iterative design prototypes that quickly explore a variety of on-brief creative solutions.
• Curate strong moodboards and reference materials to help creative team with a solid aesthetic starting point
• Additionally, a Senior Designer is able to delegate tasks, be a point of reference for junior designers and work closely with Creative Producers to ensure design work is being completed by the team in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work with the creative team at large to refine prototypes into polished executions, with an eye for detail and overall aesthetics.
• Actively participate in a small, but robust, collaborative creative team consisting of copy-writers, art directors and designers by contributing to almost every stage of the creative process. From early concepting to final design, a Humanaut graphic designer is contributing above and beyond just their technical design skills.
• Prepare traffic-ready files for digital & print, and partner with creative producers to accurately traffic files to client or outside partners.
• Grow and learn by utilizing agency-provided educational allowance and pushing themselves to learn new techniques through online courses or in person training.
• Read and retain project materials including creative briefs, strategy briefs and client-provided information

Graphic Designer Qualifications/Skills

• Advanced knowledge required in Adobe Products: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Sketch/Figma or similar UX/UI prototyping software a plus. After Effects experience a plus as well.
• Effective time management skills, and able to balance multiple projects for different clients at the same time
• Able to balance different phases of different projects at the same time (be able to prototype for one client and hop back into final design for another)
• Able to quickly communicate ideas through rough design prototypes (sketches)
• Clear understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
• A strong eye for visual composition, establishing mood and tone through a combination of photography, type and other design elements.
• Experience in team file sharing services like Dropbox and Google Slides/Docs/Drive.
• Experience in creatively communicating with consumers via social media (including knowledge of stories and other social media tools) is a huge plus.
• Able to give and receive constructive criticism, and contribute to the collaborative culture at Humanaut

Education And Experience Requirements

• Five (5) to Eight (8) years of experience in graphic design
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, industrial design, or interior design, or equivalent
