About Shoplift
Shoplift is a venture-backed, seed-stage SaaS startup. We help e-commerce merchants maximize revenue by optimizing their storefront's sales conversion potential with automated A/B testing.
Shoplift is the first platform to offer Shopify merchants a truly no-code A/B testing experience that natively integrates with Shopify's template format. Rather than giving merchants a clunky visual editor that tries to read your site's HTML classes, as almost all A/B testing platforms do, Shoplift cuts out this abstraction layer, which gives users dramatically more power and flexibility to interact with test variants as if they were editing their own theme. We also recently launched an exciting new feature called Lift Assist™ that uses merchants’ brand styles to generate entirely new page components in real-time.
We're in-market, well-funded, and growing fast, and we're looking for talented full-stack engineers to join our founding team and take on some big features on our roadmap.
About the role
- Own large features and be expected to see them through to completion
- Contribute to resource planning and roadmap discussions
- Develop user interfaces with Typescript (Vue.js) and the backend architecture required to power them with C# and PostgreSQL
- You’ll get to spend your time writing code without distractions. We keep meetings to a minimum other than daily stand-ups
- Help balance team bandwidth and priorities in order to meet short-term and long-term goals
- Work with other engineers and cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and data scientists to deliver powerful and accessible features
About you
- You're a high-performer and expect the same from those around you
- You care about the “why.” You want to understand the bigger picture of how the feature you’re building is benefitting users
- You’re a good communicator and a good listener: you’re able to discuss concepts with non-technical stakeholders. You have the patience to communicate nuanced ideas clearly.
- You are a true technologist who is always looking for new, better ways to do things
- You’re not above getting your hands dirty. Whatever it takes to get the job done
- You want to be a part of the excitement of a fast-growing company (and all the highs and lows that come with it)
- Team player: For you, work isn't a solo endeavor. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals, and you care about learning, growing, and helping others to do the same.
- You're a quick learner. You can take a look at something you've never seen before and make sense of it quickly.
- You’re thoughtful and resourceful. For you, problem-solving starts with a clear understanding of the context and an open mind to a wide array of potential solutions.
- You love to solve big, hairy problems
- You're a planner and a performer. You love to outdo yourself on goals, timelines, and quality of work. You like to follow up on changes you’ve shipped to ensure they are working as expected.
- You're not satisfied with "good enough"
Requirements
- Typescript, C#, SQL, Python
- Expertise in databases, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience working for a startup
- Experience with asynchronous programming patterns
- Experience with Entity Framework Core (with heavy/optimized use of LINQ)
- Must be willing to make key strategic decisions, communicate the reasoning behind those decisions, and follow through on driving adoption
- 4+ years of hands-on experience owning entire products or features
- Must be able to articulate ideas effectively to executives and business leaders
- Experience with Agile development practices, continuous integration and refactoring
Nice to have
- Experience with Liquid and/or the Shopify ecosystem
- You’re located in NYC-area and comfortable with hybrid work environment (we're flexible)
- Experience designing and developing machine learning models or algorithms
- Experience with .NET 5+ runtime
- Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
What we offer
- Flexible remote work policy
- Generous time off policy to balance your work and life, including paid parental leave
- Daily Seamless lunch stipend (when in-office)
- Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents
- Commuter benefits
- Free food: bagels every Tuesday, pizza every Thursday, and a wide array of delicious snacks
- Flexible work environment where you can choose when to socialize and when to focus
- Competitive compensation that includes equity options
