Shift: 1st Shift 6:00a – 2:30p
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for mechanical and operational troubleshooting in manufacturing and laboratories.
- Train new personnel on procedures/policies in regard to equipment maintenance.
- Proactively communicate unexpected equipment downtime and delays that will impact production efficiencies.
- Recommends specifications and procedures for all equipment .
- Assist with equipment validations (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Maintain procedures and records, as per company standards; provide management with necessary information and reports.
- Executes or leads the implementation of improvements and innovative methods of resolving problems.
- Responsible for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects.
- May be required to work with hazardous materials.
- Runs technical experiences to test and analyze new and existing processes, equipment as required.
- Subject matter expert in preventative maintenance procedures on all manufacturing equipment; subject matter expert in repairing assembly related problems.
- Plans, coordinates, installs and performs operational checkouts for all equipment and processes in manufacturing and laboratories.
- Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Abbott Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities.
- Generate and update documentation for manufacturing engineering.
- Responsible for executions of technical tasks; and for ensuring OEE metrics are maintained month over month.
- Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships.
- Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.
- Will be required to use Agile PLM to execute Quality Incidents and CAPA’s related to the maintenance/technical process.
- Executes or leads the implementation of effective improvements to equipment, process and procedures.
- Basic understanding of federal regulations as well as other regulatory and company requirements.
- Provide technical support for complex equipment projects as a subject matter expert.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree or Certificate in Technical Discipline
- Experience working in a GMP environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a work environment that involves direct responsibility for equipment operation.
- Five years of experience in a semi-automated to automated manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing systems (documentation, compliance, inventory control, production scheduling/controls, etc.).
- MS Office Suite experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is an asset.
- Experience with SolidWorks, CAD, JMP software is an asset.
- Associates degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering/Electronics Technician Certificate
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE) is an asset.
- Experience with pneumatically operated pick-and-place mechanisms, PLC programming and Vision Inspection systems is an asset.
