When this team introduced the App Store, it launched a cultural and economic phenomenon that changed the way people live, work, and play. These engineers and dedicated Program Managers continue to innovate the platform, now home to over 1.5 million apps — each created using the team’s own software development kit and related services. All those apps mean the store takes billions of requests from more than 500 million visitors every week, across iOS, macOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. To deliver such a rich experience at this scale, Program Managers partner with the engineers to build high-performance systems backed up by persistent systemwide A/B testing. And to help people discover apps they love, the team uses machine learning techniques that include natural language processing to develop new algorithms for personalization, search, and recommender systems. In a world where apps have become essential in people’s daily lives, the App Store team has become essential to Apple’s business.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
  • 5+ years of program, project, or product management in software development
  • You are upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive demeanor
  • The ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans
  • Experience working on Trust and Safety or legal and regulatory initiatives
  • Built products by collaborating across engineering, analytics, marketing, design and other key stakeholders
  • A hunger to tackle complicated and impactful product & business problems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to all levels of an organization
  • Experience with frameworks or developer focused products from kick-off to ship
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and logical structuring abilities

Description

This role will lead Trust & Safety development projects and work with our engineering, design, and product teams to build experiences that impact millions of users worldwide. We're looking for an individual with a proven track record of shipping complex customer facing projects under demanding timelines. This role will drive App Store feature initiatives, working with a broad cross- functional team to plan, schedule, build and ship the next wave of features supporting App Store customers and developers across Appleʼs platforms. The day-to-day will include project planning, execution, and risk assessments, in order to meet the overall program goals. You will foster collaboration across a broad team of cross-functional partners to drive scope assessment, schedule alignment, and issue resolution. You will also help to set the strategy and communicate status and issues to stakeholders at all levels along the way. While doing all this, you'll be collaborating with some of the best, most innovative and dedicated colleagues you'll ever work with, in an exciting environment that makes this a great place to work.

Education & Experience

Prefer a BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field.

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $269,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
