Overview

Reports to Director of User Experience. Front-end developer needed to help build and maintain a multi-channel design system for a suite of financial products.

Responsibilities

Build reusable configurable components for use across multiple products. Collaborate with development teams to promote standardization and reuse to achieve efficiency and a consistent user experience. Work side-by-side with the product design team to define a library of optimized components. Collaborate with product designers on UI design, guidelines and governance. Obtain component contributions from development teams, review code, and provide to the enterprise for reuse. Evangelize the utility of the design system and encourage adoption and participation from development teams. Advise development teams touching the front-end on implementation. Work as an independent developer willing to wear multiple hats. Establish good working relationships with teams around the globe. In addition to the maintenance, expansion, and ownership of the design system, over time there will be opportunities to work with individual product teams. The list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as needed.

React, Angular, CSS/SASS/Less, Storybook, npm, working knowledge of multiple front-end frameworks. Proven experience successfully building out Storybook.js or similar framework.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with responsive web design and the ability to deliver across devices and platforms.
• 4+ years of experience with any of the following: React, Angular, Redux, Node.js
• Working knowledge of digital product design and user experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate and advise with multiple teams
• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6) or TypeScript
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of HTML5 (Canvas, WebWorkers, WebSockets), CSS3, SASS
• Experience in a business to business consulting role
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Front-end development frameworks, Cloud services (Microsoft Azure), Message queue-based designs/implementations, Git code repositories, Reporting services (Power BI, Kibana, SSRS).
• Knowledge of server-side configuration and deployment (IIS, TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps).
• Interest and ability to learn new technologies as required
• Knowledge of financial markets or a strong desire to learn
