Senior Devops Engineer, Azure A Must

We have been retained by our client in Houston, Texas to deliver a Senior DevOps Engineer on a long-term contract basis. We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience, we prefer closer to 10 years experience or more. This team at our client will enable you to experience massive career growth. There are numerous large development projects needing more DevOps. Work onsite within what may be the best company culture’s you have encountered. This company culture is excellent. Turnover is low. We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with significant “Microsoft shop” and significant Azure DevOps CI CD experience, and the technical know-how and hands-on experience implementing various practices, frameworks and tools to help build and support, and automate infrastructure provisioning, and improve the scalability and reliability of our client’s DevOps, CI CD. Workflow integrations. Properly identify, configure, and secure the Dev, Test, and Production environments. Assist in developing the best practices to manage and reduce security risks by developing and integrating security controls into the Azure DevOps CI and CD pipelines. Prepare Dev, Test, Prod environments to perform, scale, remain stable, and secure. Document workflows and process improvements. Work with and manage incident management and disaster recovery processes. Work with software tools to monitor and detect problems and provide alerts if applications or infrastructures have problems or are lacking in stability, reliability or security. Work with development team to determine issue identification and expedite to the solution, whether the problem is, for example, a code problem, an API, CI CD pipeline, environment configuration or another problem.

Requirements:

• Some Kubernetes (K8s) experience, automation of creation of Docker containers, ServiceMesh, API gateways, proxy servers, encryption, secure socket layer, SSL, secret key management. Application/system monitoring and profiling. Scale. Optimize.
• Excellent IT skills across networks, web servers, IIS preferred, load balancing, MS Active Directory required, messaging systems preferred, RabbitMQ or Azure Queues a nice plus; virtualization with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experienced in deployments of 3-tier or 4-tier distributed apps or messaging apps running on IIS (internet information server) web servers; message queues are a big plus; database skills required, and SQL Server experience is preferred. SQL Server config, admin, backup, recover a plus.
• Agile, Scrum. SaFE (scaled agile framework) is preferred.
• 5+ years’ (~10+ years preferred) experience with key accomplishments in an IT, system administration or software development position, including some cloud and DevOps experience including significant Azure DevOps experience, continuous integration and continuous deployment (Azure DevOps CI / CD) pipeline design and build. Source code control with GIT and Azure or Azure DevOps or team foundation server (TFS) . 3+ years Azure required.

Employment type: Contract, Long-Term, a least 8 months, renewable, contract to hire is an option, but not required.

Pay Rate: $85 – 100 per hour w-2
