About The Job


We are seeking a Senior Debt Analyst to join our growing real estate platform and get exposure to a variety of asset classes across our clients’ portfolios. Our robust training program provides instruction in financial modeling, fund-level reporting, underwriting debt investments, utilization of CRE software (i.e. Argus, Bloomberg, etc.), and more. Throughout the duration of the program, analysts play an integral role within the asset management team while helping bridge the gap between investment-level and fund-level performance.


Responsibilities


  • Generate reporting materials to monitor the performance of investments at the asset level
  • Review and analyze business plans, leasing activity, lease approvals, draws and monthly property operating performance
  • Perform credit analysis of potential sponsors
  • Liaison with borrowers and leading members of the Asset Management Team to review business plan execution and ensure debt covenants are met
  • Assist in the proactive monitoring and management of a portfolio of debt investments across all property types (office, industrial, hotel, retail, & residential) and securitized products

  • Dynamic team player with strong integrity, a high degree of professionalism and the ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment including:
  • Completion of a high level of work within tight timeframes, successfully manages competing deadlines
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and work with limited direct guidance
  • Ability to read and analyze investment, lease and management agreements
  • Excessive attention to detail, outstanding initiative and an eagerness to learn with a strong work ethic


Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

  • Investment and Fund-level Reforecasting: BWAM is responsible for creating proprietary investment-level valuation models for the portfolio to enhance our ability to reforecast investment-and fund-level performance on a routine basis.
  • Active Asset Management Support: The team works closely with Acquisition Teams to help monitor all strategic and joint-venture operating partners on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities include weekly leasing calls, monthly operational reviews, annual budget and business plan reviews and financial analysis;
