Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior CT Technologist to come and join our friendly, flexible and supportive team as we provide Complete Connected Care! Work on state-of-the-art equipment in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. Build upon your current skillset in Computed Tomography while you also build lifelong relationships with colleagues. Hours: 40 hours a week, Night Shifts. 11pm-7am

Location: Saints Campus

Our Senior CT Technologist report into our CT Manager and have the following responsibilities:

  • Position and prepare patients for routine and emergent CT procedures according to set hospital protocols
  • Applies knowledge and safety principles to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Act as role model and trainer for current CT Techs as well as new hires.
  • Possesses knowledge of department workflow; can successfully triage the order of patients into exam rooms based on acuity and availability
  • Communicates well with other staff/departments to coordinate care of patients.
  • Performs multi-plane reconstructions and archives data.
  • Applies knowledge and principles of Universal Precautions, septic and sterile techniques, to minimize exposure to/spread of infectious organisms.
  • Uses techniques which best demonstrate illness or injury while maintaining image quality and abiding by the ALARA principle
  • Administers contrast material; competent with IV skills whether using an existing IV line or performing venipuncture; knows when to ask for assistance.
  • Supervises students, directly and indirectly, in clinical procedures pursuant to terms of any clinical affiliation agreement
  • Performs and documents patient assessment/history related to procedures and provides quality patient care
  • Provides clear and accurate instructions to patients regarding procedures which improves the quality of the CT exam being performed.
  • Maintain current knowledge in areas of Computed Tomography.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience desired
  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • Licensed CT in Massachusetts and ARRT
