The senior creative strategist will leverage customer insights, culture, and trends with a deep understanding of the brand to help develop creative strategies for complex, omnichannel creative projects, programs, and platforms and help establish Starbucks' global brand standards. They will champion great work, challenge assumptions, adapt, and flex quickly to inputs and learnings. The Sr Creative Strategist will be a problem-solver who will collaborate with creative and cross-functional teams to uncover strategic solutions, mindful of the customer, partner, business, and brand. Applying those insights as foundations for response to briefs and presenting strategic creative positioning that sparks and facilitates groundbreaking creative ideas and helps nurture those ideas through approval. Leverage your deep experience in creative and brand strategy, branding, positioning, and identifying creative territories to bring the Starbucks brand to life innovatively while ensuring the brand shows up consistently and effectively for our customers globally.


As senior creative strategist, Creative Studio, you will…


  • Incorporate creative and cultural trends and expertly translate findings to build insightful creative positioning and strategy, helping evolve and strengthen the Starbucks brand.
  • Build strong working relationships collaborating proactively and skillfully with cross-functional teams on assigned projects and broader initiatives–may serve as a studio ambassador in cross-functional settings.
  • Guide, inspire and provide strategic feedback to internal creative teams and consultation with external agencies.
  • Interpret and integrate creative feedback to advance the work, demonstrating flexibility and skillfully responding to feedback and questions, extracting meaningful input and clarity from the audience.
  • Develop insightful, creative strategies and lead ideation, helping the team define insights across a wide range of omnichannel work, unlocking unique ideas, and driving a high level of execution strategically and creatively.
  • Build innovative, creative strategies that help drive the success of the Starbucks brand. Adhere to and shape new global brand standards to ensure Starbucks evolves and shows up consistently and effectively.
  • Demonstrate excellent storytelling ability, strategically and effectively present work to a broad range of audiences, and expertly navigates discussions
  • Architect presentations that demonstrate smart strategic builds, solid creative positioning and help spark ideas that link creative solutions to brand and business objectives.
  • Role model a positive attitude and actively create a productive environment that promotes inclusion, collaboration, empathy, and respect—deftly adapt to team dynamics and help build the Creative Studio's culture.
  • Develop an understanding our client's business challenges and identify strategic solutions, championing creative work while challenging assumptions, seeking clarity, navigating discussions, and partnering with stakeholders to inform or co-author creative briefs.


We’d Love To Hear From People With


  • Mastery in crafting compelling creative strategies across different types of work
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • 8+ years of strategy experience with a creative agency or in-house creative team
  • Sharply attuned to cultural and consumer trends and applying insights to conceptual thinking and strategies
  • Possesses high EQ with an exceptional ability to build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and executives
  • Has an outstanding portfolio demonstrating a wide range of strategic projects
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing/Advertising, Design or related field
  • Expertise in uncovering insights and unique positioning to set up creative concepting
  • Has an outstanding portfolio demonstrating a wide range of strategic projects
  • Ability to work independently, lead and inspire in a team environment, and build agency/in-house culture
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adhere to deadlines
  • Possesses an advanced understanding of integrated marketing and its various components


Preferred Qualifications


  • 8+ years experience working on omnichannel creative and developing strategies that span integrated campaigns at every touch point
  • 8+ years experience developing original, breakthrough brand and creative strategies that serve a global audience
  • 8+ years experience working with cross-functional leaders on ambiguous problems and crafting strategies driven by creative thinking
  • 8+ years experience distilling analytics, insights, and marketing briefs into inspirational creative briefs and presentations
