General Summary:


The Sr. Coordinator, FLASH coordinates and implements the FLASH sexual health education curriculum in as part of the Chicago’s Partnerships & Opportunities for Adolescent Health Preparation, Support and Services (POPSS) project. The Sr. Coordinator will collaborate with POPSS team, community stakeholders, school personnel, and health educators to implement FLASH in CPS High Schools and residential facilities. The Sr. Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the project, facilitation of curriculum, training health educators, coordination with school and residential facility leaders, coordination with Lurie and Texas A&M staff, funder/PO, meeting deliverables, and regularly reporting outcomes.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Identify schools and residential facilities to implement FLASH in Y1 and scale in Y2-5
  • Support coordination of POPSS Coalition to engaging local, regional, and state orgs, to make a systemic change for advancing equity in teen pregnancy prevention. Ensure that school and community leaders are integrated.
  • Collaborate with team to create and implement project evaluation.
  • Report annual outcome data reported to partners & stakeholders.
  • Monitors and orders materials as needed.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.
  • Coordinate and facilitate School-based Parents, Caregivers and Families Sexual Health
  • Support POPSS-related policy and environmental changes
  • Manages and maintains the project budget.
  • Other job functions as assigned.
  • Collaborate with POPSS Coalition, school personnel, and other community partners to successfully implement FLASH in designated settings.
  • Support in coordination of POPSS youth advisory board
  • Complete training on FLASH curriculum and oversee implementation of curriculum to ensure that it is being delivered with fidelity.
  • Maintain necessary databases and submit all reports.
  • Oversee project and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Participates in Hospital, Division, and community meetings/events.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrate fluency and clarity in written and oral communication. Demonstrate knowledge of programmatic scopes, including the ability to present the project objectives fluently.
  • Strong working knowledge and skills in Microsoft computer software applications and database technologies.
  • Ability to establish priorities and react promptly to a large variety of requests and needs on short notice.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Experience with school and community education
  • Demonstrated ability to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care, evidence-based and community-driven processes.
  • Master’s degree in a related field or 5+ years of relevant experience; education background highly desired, with sexual health education experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, managerial, and oral and written communication skills required.
  • Valid State of Illinois driver’s license with access to reliable transportation in order to attend and/or facilitate off-site educational programs preferred.
  • Five or more years’ experience with project leadership; direct education experience is essential, experience in Illinois and Chicago is preferred.
  • Experience working with community leaders and youth
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a project, grant deliverables and partnerships with outside agencies
