Job Description
Role: Senior Component Engineer


Location: Plymouth, MN-55442


Duration: 6 Months on W2


Shift Timing: 8 AM to 4:30 PM


Years Experience: plus 6+ years of related work experience


Skills: Project focused, specifically on cost and risk reductions,


Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred.



Plymouth, MN local candidates preferred


Onsite: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote preferred


6-month contract to start with possible extension/conversion


EP Dept Bulk New Products and Existing Products; work with supply chain


Team size 2


5-6 years within manufacturing environment, engineering technical skills required: injection molding, machine operation, electronics components


Manufacturing Process Experience Required


Cost improvement and risk mitigation components analysis


Good understanding of process flow and component cost


Working with suppliers good communication, talking with suppliers and internal team


Knowing how to communicate effectively in a professional manner


Assess suppliers, being aware of supplier capability


Analyze manufacturing processes, bottle necks, etc.


Data analytics and reporting RBI reports, Excel spreadsheets, etc.


Background with continuous improvement helpful, project management helpful as well


Work cross functionally with multiple teams


Job Duties


Perform should cost analyses and models to support strategic procurement


Collaborate with cross functional team members to develop negotiation strategies and deliver savings


Partner with R&D to develop Design to Cost and Design to Value models for new components and/or high-level assemblies


Partnering with other supply chain and functional roles in the evaluation of supplier capabilities and business fit.


Lead or participate in supplier selection process when determining business awards for components or assemblies


Identify opportunities to initiate continuous improvement projects within value streams that contribute to reduced cost, lead time and risk profiles.


Assess internally manufactured components and/or assemblies for Make vs. Buy assessments


Perform capacity analysis by partnering with suppliers and leading through a capacity assessment.
