Senior Cloud Engineer Jobs

Responsibilities

Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile. As a Senior Cloud Engineer you'll lead a team to design and develop innovative cloud-based solutions to address specific business demands. Additionally, you'll manage, install, test, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications to assure maximum availability. This enables a cloud system to run at peak efficiency. You'll design and implement the whole lifecycle functions of the programs required to run and be run on the cloud. This is vast and varied but frequently involves developing the processes, optimization, and risk management tools that a project(s) requires to function properly.

Qualifications

Required

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with internal and external teams to define requirements, specify architectures, complete detailed designs, and oversee implementations.
• Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 8+ years of experience working as a cloud engineer
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Proven technical leadership skills and mastery of cutting-edge cloud solutions and architectures.

Desired

• Experience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application servers
• Discovering and implementing industry-standard cloud service offers, as well as processes and standards that ensure the most efficient use of cloud service provider products.
• Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment.
• Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems.
• Prior experience providing mentoring to junior personnel.
• Developing scripts and templates necessary for resource provisioning to occur automatically.
• Prior experience working in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Environments

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
