Senior Civil Engineer | Birmingham

Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Oakland County office in beautiful Birmingham, working on several high-profile land development projects that will improve quality of life in southeast Michigan.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types from architects, developers, property owners and real estate professionals. You will work in a team environment led by a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager on a variety of tasks. Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical knowledge, problem solving and analytic skills.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Design and preparation of project plan sets
• Soil erosion and sediment control
• Pavement design
• Grading
• Utility (storm, sanitary and water) design
• Traffic plans
• Geometrics
• Site plan layout
• Stormwater management
• Record drawings and specifications
• Green infrastructure design

Minimum qualifications:

• You have a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience
• At least 3 years of professional engineering experience
• Must have experience in AutoCAD software

Preferred qualifications:

• PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain)
• Experience in Civil3D
