Senior Business Technical Analyst - Data & Analytics

McDonald’s Global Technology – Data & Analytics team is looking to hire a Senior Business Technical Analyst with hands on experience partneringwith our business teams to create and implement technically sound business solutions. These solutions will enable and support our effort to enhance every facet of our digital interactions with our customers. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and IT teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure the successful delivery of data-driven solutions. As a Business Technical Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making by analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Actively facilitate and drive requirements gathering discovery workshops
• Author and create design artifacts such as: Functional design specifications, source to data mapping and process and data flow diagrams
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and document data and analytics requirements.
• Conducting data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business value.
• Participating in data modeling and design discussions to support the development of data solutions.
• Create and maintain User Stories in JIRA and participate in agile scrum ceremonies
• Developing and maintaining data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for business users.
• Providing support and training to business users on data tools, reports, and analytics platforms.
• Working closely with data scientists and data engineers to ensure the availability, accuracy, and quality of data.
• Ability and flexibility to coordinate and work with teams distributed across time zones, as needed. For instance, early morning/late evening hours to coordinate with teams in India
• Staying updated on industry trends and advancements in data and analytics to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate data and analytics solutions against business requirements.
• Translating business requirements into technical specifications for data engineering and data science teams.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of the key business processes and systems and identify integration, alignment and improvement opportunities
• Collaborating with IT teams to ensure the proper implementation and integration of data solutions.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets and synthesizing data insights into actionable recommendations
• Working knowledge of cloud-based data systems and integrations
• Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts and relational database management systems.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management principles.
• Solid understanding of business processes and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• 8-10 years’ of active experience as a Technical Business Analyst or equivalent role
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in data querying and data analysis over large data sets, using SQL.
