Position Summary

Product Development simulation work in the area of Tire performance and Virtual Simulation offers interesting and unique challenges for engineers in terms of fundamental mechanics, simulations, experimental work and innovation. Core Engineering, a tire technology development department of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO), has an opening for a candidate with experience in FEA. The candidate is expected to possess experience in the area of FEA simulation and results analysis. Experience with finite element methods and ABAQUS is required for this position.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible to help tire development groups to run virtual simulations in support of tire development programs.Previous ABAQUS FEA experience is required.Previous testing or tire experience would be a plus.Responsibilities for this position include development of proprietary methods to predict and measure tire and vehicle performances. The engineer is expected to initiate new projects, apply the findings to new products and collaborate with other teammates in a cross functional role to predict and improve tire performances. Customer interactions and disseminating simulation solutions with other teammates is also expected. The candidate will need to prepare and present designs at milestones like initial and final design reviews.Domestic and international travel possible 5-15%.

Minimum Qualifications
