Job Description
Summary You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. Responsibilities You will serve as primary assistant to the Security Manager and is responsible for the administrative support for the Industrial Security Program for NAVSUP WSS-Philadelphia. You will assist in the evaluation of the sensitivity classification for positions by applying the sensitivity criteria. You will compile information for submission to the Security Manager for determination whether clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked or denied as appropriate. You will screen and submit trustworthiness investigations for all government contractors. You will review contract proposals to ensure that the appropriate security clauses are incorporated to protect classified and controlled information. You will manage and protects classified information, documents and material. You will be assigned duties relating to all internal Physical Security and Anti-Terrorism functions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a thorough knowledge of provisions as they relate to Personnel, Information, and Industrial Security. Examples of specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following; 1) Reviewing and implanting security instructions as they relate to Personnel, Information and Industrial Security to ensure security compliance; 2) Reviewing, analyzing and resolving problems using security concepts, principles and practices; 3) Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases; 4) Coordinating reports and adjudicating security violations for potential security compromises of classified information; 5) Managing an established security awareness and education program to ensure proper security information dissemination; 6) Interpreting new or existing security instructions and review/ implement and/or rewrite procedures pertaining to the work of the security department.
