DHL Express has a career opportunity for aSecurity Specialist. The position reports to the Security Manager. As aSecurity Specialistyou will develop and administer policies and programs to ensure the facility has effective company security procedures and techniques. Additionally, you will oversee proper emergency evacuation procedures and training. You will also investigate theft, fire and sabotage by employees, customers or other personnel. As well as, prepare and present training classes and informative instructions to U.S. employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift assignments will be based on operational needs
- Provide technical expertise and knowledge in compliance with the regulations of regulatory agencies such as the FAA, TSA, Homeland Security and U.S. Customs
- CCSF Screening
- Records Retention / Data Storage
- Implement policies for access control to DHL facilities, acts as a liaison with law enforcement officials, and ensure security of all company property, employees and visitors
- Able to receive direction with respect to general objectives; occasionally uses independent discretion and judgment
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems
- Security Liaison for HSI and US CBP
- Contingency Screener (X-ray)
- Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations
- Less than 10% travel required.
- Oversee / Responsible for the Gateway FSC and alternate
- Normal work hours, with adaptations to 24/7 calls and the ability to respond in short notice
- Regulatory Compliance Training
- TSA and ICAO 2021- K9 Screening Process
Skills & Qualifications:
- Work is performed inside, outside, or a combination; subject to temperature extremes, noise, vibrations, hazards or other special circumstances
- Light work (exerting up to 70 lbs. of force occasionally, and up to 10 lbs. of force frequently and or a small amount of force constantly to move objects)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail entrepreneurial, innovative spirit, willingness to accept ownership and accountability
- 3-5 years of experience in related field or in operations
- Experienced professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field
