Job Description
As the importance and impact of the Meta family of companies continues to grow, so does the security risk to the company and the possibility that our platforms could be used to cause harm. The Meta Security Policy team is dedicated to understanding these risks and crafting policies that govern acceptable use of our platform so that we can identify and take action against those who would use our platforms for malicious purposes.

We are looking for a Security Policy Manager to work closely with our Director of Security Policy and our Director of Threat Disruption to accomplish this mission. As the first company to develop and deploy the adversarial threat disruption model, we have conducted hundreds of investigations and disruptions of malicious actors seeking to exploit our platforms and target public debate, spread malware, or perpetrate fraud.

This role will help the company identify, understand, disrupt, and deter these operations, building on our long experience identifying and disrupting these efforts through scaled enforcement and expert investigations. This role will work closely with our Integrity product teams, investigators, and our global elections teams to develop new policies and refine enforcement protocols to increase our ability to disrupt these bad actors. This role will work across our team's adversary-focused pillars to enable comprehensive enforcement and will bridge the technical work of our teams with human and policy impact with a chance to shape products used by billions of people.

Security Policy Manager, Threat Disruptions Responsibilities:

  • Work within Facebook's Security Policy team to formulate policies that govern emerging threats across the platform.
  • Work with Facebook's Public Policy, Integrity and Security teams to form international coalitions that help advance and support Facebook’s security goals.
  • Work across our Security Policy team to enable enforcement, drive efficiency, and support our SMEs
  • Work with the Facebook Integrity teams to identify and disrupt actors that seek to misuse our platforms and target our users.
  • Move quickly to detect and respond to global events.
  • Work with our Integrity teams to identify and develop opportunities to automate, systematize, and scale our enforcement against these inauthentic behaviors.
  • Work with Facebook's Public Policy and Security teams, as well as our Integrity teams, to monitor the global influence operations, espionage, fraud, and scams environment for policy issues that interest the company.
  • Represent Facebook in meetings with politicians, policymakers, NGOs and civil society groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the global security environment
  • Experience drafting and briefing at the executive level
  • Experience operating independently to represent Meta at the executive level
  • Experience with persuasive communication and experience working in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrable experience with internet technologies
  • 4+ years of relevant policy or security experience
  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating in developing nations
  • Proficient in other key languages
  • Experience working in Integrity or Trust and Safety roles at a technology company
  • Experience analyzing and drafting legislation, regulations, or organizational public policy
  • 8+ years of relevant policy or security experience
  • Experience in the technology sector in cybersecurity roles
  • Experience advising other governments on legislative/regulatory challenges
  • Experience in a chief of staff, project management, or product management role
  • Advanced degree in international security, public policy or law
  • Experience in national security and/or cybersecurity work with the U.S. government
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, International Security Studies, or equivalent field
