As a Security Officer for the Radisson Blu Mall of America, no two days will be the same. You, along with a team of other Security Officers, will be responsible for keeping the guests and employees of the hotel safe on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Creates guest satisfaction and exceeds expectations by providing the service expectations and standards:
- Closes down the different outlets each night as per post orders
- Logs and delivers all in-house packages and monitors out going deliveries
- Maintains responsibility for handling any emergency that would require partial or complete evacuation of the hotel such as fire, severe injuries, power failure, or bomb threats
- Takes corrective action where required to improve safety of work areas
- Responds to all emergency situations immediately
- Inspects hotel regularly to observe potential security or safety related problems and takes necessary actions to alleviate them
- Ensures that all employees follow safety rules and procedures
- Checks in and out all vendors to the hotel
- Ensures that all meeting rooms and exhibit rooms are secured to keep unauthorized persons out of the area and prevent theft
- Ensures that all hotel entrances and exits are locked and unlocked per hotel policy
- Completes daily security log, including pertinent information from the shift
- Reviews accident investigations to ensure accurate and complete reporting
- Processes all written reports involving security related incidents and customer or employee accidents
- Takes appropriate action to safeguard guests, employees and the hotel
- Improves safety and security at hotel by communicating hazards with department heads and taking appropriate corrective actions
- Meets with leaders on a regular basis
- Maintains hotel key management procedures and ensures that all keys are accountable and only authorized persons have access to keys
- Understand written procedures for handling any emergency that would require partial or complete evacuation of the hotel such as fire, severe injuries, power failure, or bomb threats
- Keeps hotel management promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
- Provides a safe and secure environment in the hotel by ensuring proper security methods and procedures are carried out consistently
- Monitor all activity and diligently monitor building video surveillance
- Handles complaints, investigates, and thoroughly reports on: customer or employee injuries, thefts, assaults, lost property, car accidents, loud parties, vandalism, and other guest complaints as necessary
Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations
- Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility, and uses teamwork when providing guest service
- Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution, and follows through when resolving guest problems
- Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction
- Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
- Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality
Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guest
Requirements/Skills
- Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Commitment to exceptional guest service
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year security experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the hotel
- Works well independently or as part of a team
- Experience with MS Office applications and Outlook required
- Associates/Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred (additional training [e.g. military, law enforcement] and education is highly desirable)
- Previous work experience should include working in a high-volume environment, as well as, customer-service oriented atmosphere
- Demonstrates strong verbal and interpersonal skills
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, pull, push up to 25 pounds.
- See, hear, speak and read and write legibly.
- Duties may involve climbing stair and walking inclines or uneven terrain.
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of times up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist.
- Be able to reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
