Job Description

  • Supports all fire/life safety/emergency management drills and education initiatives
  • Secures, locks, and protects Hospital buildings and grounds. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or personnel.
  • Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require a need to have security staff remain at the Hospital in order to assure that the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and Hospital operations are interrupted. While these situations are unusual and at times predictable, our security staff should be prepared to remain on site.
  • Successfully completes hospital and department specific orientation and ongoing mandatory education requirements.
  • Serves as a member of the BRT team and responds to codes appropriately.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to all areas of the hospital.
  • Maintains current information in lost and found logs.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary to the operation of the department.
  • Documents incident reports in an accurate and timely manner. Follows appropriate investigative procedure.
  • Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto Hospital property. Assists with inquires made by patients, visitors, or personnel.
  • Patrols Hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism.
  • Reports all safety and fire hazards, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances and reports all incidents to supervisor.
  • Manage access control at various entrances by ensuring all staff, patients, visitors and vendors are authorized to gain entry for business / service purposes
  • Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, or assists in these activities.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Perform duties independently.
  • Ability to accept new assignments as delegated by the supervisor.
  • Practices good time management and follows set deadline.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
