Role Summary


The Security Architect will develop, implement and maintain enterprise security systems. This position will design solutions that protect client and enterprise assets while supporting innovation and project execution. The Security Architect will also lead and manage security projects, manage security experts, and oversee task execution. This position will also provide guidance on escalated items and developed recommendations for comprehensive resolutions. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core


SECURITY ARCHITECTURE FAMILY - CORE


  • Tracks, updates, and presents meaningful metrics on program effectiveness and business driven outcomes to multiple audience groups.
  • Trains and engages internal IT operations on production solutions and workflows.
  • Leads technical resources for design and implementation projects with advanced project management methodology and guidance.
  • Remains connected to effective research outlets and industry experts for proactive outlook and recommendations.
  • Motivates and leads team members on technical and methodology characteristics, encouraging actions and positive security position improvements.
  • Maintains an approachable environment for coaching, partnering, and leading IT groups, team members, and enterprise groups; reinforcing a culture of information safety.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for information security related solutions by resolving escalated issues.
  • Promotes advanced security practices within the IT department and across the organization through dialog, collaboration, proactive communication, and establishment of relationships with organizational department champions.
  • Designs secure architecture with advanced and innovative concepts in a collaborative method that drives value within the enterprise.
  • Develops and manages policies and procedures in alignment with enterprise security risk and compliance requirements.
  • Establishes connections with key personnel to understand needs and evaluate responsible solutions for ongoing protection.
  • Leads planning, evaluation, execution, and remediation of incident response efforts.
  • Reinforces concepts of continual improvement across information security domains to fortify control effectiveness and minimize business operations impact.
  • Maintains relevant awareness to new security threats and continually evaluates controls for effectiveness of asset defense.
  • Tracks regulations, compliance, and client requirements for adjustment of security position in support of industry trend.
  • Communicates with business groups for collaboration and coordination of security program management.

  • Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of modern security controls, technologies, concepts, and languages
  • Proven history of mature solution design, implementation, documentation, training, and delivery
  • Ability to follow-up on inquiries in a timely manner
  • Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of information security practices and architecture across public and private cloud and as-a-service solutions
  • Ability to identify metrics and measure improvement of capability maturity and strategy execution – Advanced

  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Expert knowledge of NIST cyber security framework, defense federal acquisition regulation supplement, and ISO 270XX
  • History of cloud compute environment controls and cloud solution management experience
  • Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems
  • Ability to evaluate and communicate information security risk related to enterprise and client assets – Advanced
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner


Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered


Experience


  • 10+ years experience in information security engineering, compliance and analytics (Preferred)


Working Environment


  • Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed – might be on call in the evenings and weekends
  • May require periods of overnight travel
  • Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
  • Normal office environment
