Security Operations Center (SOC) Analysts are responsible for preventing, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity events at the university. This position is responsible for assisting with analyzing data from a myriad of data sources including but not limited to, Security Incident and Event Management systems, Endpoint Protection Platforms, Firewalls, Vulnerability scanners, and Intrusion Prevention & Detection Systems to detect and respond to potential security incidents and or vulnerabilities and to full fill related service requests. This position takes part in a duty cycle, monitoring tools on a daily basis, and provides 24x7 availability to respond to security events when required.
Required Skills
B.A./B.S. preferred, or technical institute degree/certificate. Equivalent work experience can substitute for educational requirement, security-related certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, etc. are preferred, other certifications or certificates in other fields will also be considered for their specific relevance to this position, demonstrated working knowledge in a specific IT discipline, problem solving/troubleshooting skills and one to three years of relevant work experience. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must agree to a fingerprint-based background check as a condition of employment.
