Job Description

Scrum Master

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 (+7.5% target bonus)

Stelvio Group are pleased to be recruiting a Scrum Master for a fast-growing specialty insurance company based in Fort Washington, PA. This is an onsite position, in which the successful candidate would need to be able to commute to the office location 4 days a week to be considered (Fort Washington, PA).

Our client is a dynamic, innovative, and rapidly growing organization. They are on the cusp of embarking on a transformative journey towards Agile methodologies and are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to pioneer and shape their Agile Scrum practice. This is a unique opportunity for an agile professional who is passionate about leading change and making a significant impact.


About the role

The Scrum Master will serve as a facilitator for both the product owner and the team. They will apply Agile and Scrum methodologies to improve transparency, inspection, and adaptation. This inaugural role will join our client during a pivotal time as they have have begun their transition to Agile Scrum, providing the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to shape their approach and culture. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic and high-paced environment, have excellent communication and leadership skills, and possess a strong attention to detail.


Job Responsibilities

Pioneer and implement Scrum and Agile practices within the organization, serving as a mentor and leader during this transformational journey.

Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective).

Guide the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver high-quality products.

Assist the Product Owner in backlog maintenance and user story refinement.

Encourage and help to achieve transparency, inspection, and adaptation.

Lead and coach the team in its agile adoption, sharing insights and best practices.

Work with stakeholders and other Scrum teams to manage dependencies and deliver coordinated solutions.

Remove or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the roadblock.

Build a safe and trusting environment where conflicts can be managed in a healthy way without fear of blame.

Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.

Create, maintain, and disseminate an Agile dashboard with key performance indicators.



Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar certification is strongly preferred.

Minimum 3 years' experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team.

Solid understanding of the Agile principles and Scrum framework.

Proven experience in leading the establishment of Agile Scrum practices in an organization.

Demonstrated ability to understand technical issues at a high level.

Exceptional communication, organization, and team building skills.
