Job Description
Position: Scrum Master
Duration: 6 months with Extension possible
Location: Tallahassee, FL (Onsite from day 1)
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • A minimum of two (2) years of programming/systems analysis experience;
  • Knowledge of Team Foundation Server (TFS) to use as a tracking tool.
  • Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency;
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Crystal, Functional Design Diagram (FDD);
  • Excellent mentoring skills; and
  • A minimum of One (1)- three (3) years of Scrum Master experience with indepth knowledge of Scrum and implementation of Agile Methodologies to multiple teams in large-scale enterprise change projects and programs for a software development team;
  • Knowledge of documented patterns and techniques such as Burndown Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Retrospective formats for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach;
  • First level Scrum Master Certification (Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I), Certified Scrum Master (CSM);
  • Effective oral, written, and presenting skills are required;
  • Working experience in one or more of the following Agile methods or frameworks: Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, Agile scaling methodologies (e.g., SAFe);
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team;
  • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.);
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience;
Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Coaching the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization;
  • Ensuring story points are effectively managed and measured; and
  • Progress;
  • Coaching Agile/Scrum practices and ensuring correct use of Scrum process;
  • Monitoring, tracking, and communicating team velocity and sprint/release
  • Backlog priority;
  • Resolving team conflicts and shielding the team from distractions;
  • Serving as the Scrum Master related to the services rendered under this SOW.
  • Resolving impediments in a timely manner;
  • Managing Scrum task board for teams;
  • Training teams to self-manage and self-organize;
  • Facilitating Scrum ceremonies (Refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, removing impediments as needed, stand-ups, stakeholder meetings, etc.);
  • Attending Agile planning sessions with Agile program teams and assisting delivery team with estimating and accepting stories.
  • Coordinating and assisting the team to create clear and concise epics/stories and sizing/tasking;
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owners, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog;
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improve transparency, and radiating information to ensure that a team's progress and successes are highly visible to all stakeholders;
  • Identifying cross team dependencies;
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution;
  • Managing Scrum artifacts, including burn downs and burn-ups;
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization;
  • Ensuring the team works closely with product owner on backlog refinement for
