Job Description

The Opportunity:


As a Script Reader, you will play a crucial role in our company by evaluating and analyzing scripts for potential film or television production. You will be responsible for reading and providing feedback on scripts, and assessing their viability for development. Your expertise and insights will contribute to the decision-making process in determining which scripts have the potential for success.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Script Evaluation: Read and analyze scripts submitted for consideration, including screenplays and teleplays. Assess the script's overall quality, originality, structure, character development, dialogue, and market potential.
  2. Script Coverage: Prepare concise and informative script coverage, which includes summarizing the story, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and providing a clear recommendation regarding the script's potential for production. Provide clear and constructive feedback. Your coverage should highlight marketability, target audience, and suggestions for possible revisions.


Qualifications:


  • A deep understanding of storytelling techniques, screenplay structure, and character development.
  • Knowledge of the film and television industry, including industry standards, and current market demands.
  • Excellent written skills to provide clear and constructive feedback.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with different genres and the ability to identify market trends and potential audience appeal.
  • Experience in script reading, script editing, or related areas is desirable but not always required.
