Overview

The successful candidate will be part of a team working on determining the disposition mechanisms and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) relationships of oligonucleotides. The candidate will work closely with colleagues in Research and Development, as a Scientist of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK).

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Research, Toxicology, and Clinical Pharmacology teams to apply model-based approaches in PK/PD/safety data integrations to inform clinical development plans
  • Develop and execute DMPK strategies and plans aligned with the platform, programs, and company goals to achieve strong discovery piplelines and successful worldwide registration of Alnylam drugs
  • Collaborate with scientists and project leaders in Research to enhance siRNA delivery to targeted tissues, enable drug candidate selection, characterization, and transition into development
  • Ensure the delivery of all reports and appropriate sections of regulatory documents to support INDs, NDAs, and other worldwide regulatory dossiers
  • Represent DMPK on a variety of interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications

  • Experience with oligonucleotide-based therapeutics, molecular biology, and genetics is preferred, or the candidate must have experience with multiple drug modalities
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of pharmacokinetic and PK/PD principles
  • Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical sciences, or related disciplines with 0+ years experience, or Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline with 12+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or Masters degree with 10+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and employing modeling and simulation for data integration
  • Proficient in model-based data integration, analysis and projection.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Six plus years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
