Job Description

Central Scheduling
JOB SUMMARY
Performs with competency and skill of scheduling various procedures. Provides the patient specific instructions in preparing for the scheduled procedure. Verifies insurance pre-certification is completed prior to arrival either personally or through the physician office. Ensure physician orders are obtained for the scheduled procedure.
Reports to: Director of Medical Imaging
FLSA: Non-exempt
Grade: N06

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instruction.
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform other duties as assigned.
Attends and participates in staff meeting, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
Adheres to and support policies and procedures of STRHS-Pulaski.
Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.


Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must beable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications: Basic Life Support with 6 months of hire date.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum one year experience in an insurance company, hospital, or physicians office preferred. Ability to dealwith patients and insurance companies on a daily basis. Ability to communicate verbally as well as in writing.
