Sandwich Maker/Prep Cook

Hewn, a nationally recognized, independently owned artisan bakery, is looking to hire a passionate sandwich maker/prep cook to join our growing savory team. We are committed to finding someone who wants to work with a small team and be a part of a company that is committed to their employees, farmers and customers. We are looking for someone with 1-2 years of line cook or savory prep experience. A culinary degree and professional kitchen experience is preferred.
We take enormous pride in our work, making everything from scratch, by hand, using locally sourced and organic ingredients. We are located within walking distance to the lake and public transportation.
Responsibilities: Making breakfast and lunch sandwiches, slicing meats, prepping ingredients, general cleaning and organization.
Required Skills: You must know kitchen basics, including understanding ingredients. Good knife skills and an understanding of food safety guidelines are required. You must be able to work efficiently and carefully in a fast-paced environment. You must also enjoy working with a team.
Required Experience: The ideal candidate has a Culinary degree or 1-2 years of kitchen experience. This is not a managerial position and you would report directly to the Production Operations Manager. Must be available to work weekends and lift 50 lbs. ServSafe certification is required.
