Job Description
The Role


Green Thumb seeks a talented Sales Manager to oversee our growing Connecticut cannabis program. As a Sales Manager, you will ensure we meet and exceed our distribution and revenue growth targets. As a process manager, you will be responsible for maximizing our sales team’s potential, influencing, and educating our customers, developing sales strategies, maintaining budget/sales forecasts, and managing the overall execution of the sales plan. You thrive in a growth, gritty environment and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive in. This role best suits an extroverted go-getter who doesn’t mind phone calls, driving, and ample Facetime. You will be in dispensaries, often interacting with a variety of clientele. Above all, you will embody Green Thumb’s people-first culture.


You will be responsible for the entire state of CT sales and must have reliable transportation to drive the entire state. Must be available nights, weekends, and during regular business hours for in-market administrative tasks, meetings, field audits, consumer engagement activity, events, and training.


Responsibilities


  • Complete regular market visits within the assigned territory.
  • Understand and provide insights on sales drivers and recommend new opportunities to drive incremental growth
  • Conduct strategic consumer and trade activity planning to optimize reach for the assigned brands. Research and analyze opportunities in designated territory area(s). Identify best opportunities and use discretionary authority and analysis to propose and schedule activity —provide all rationale and strategy to ensure effective communication.
  • Work with Branding and Marketing teams to develop advertising strategy and promotional activities.
  • Led and coached a team of account executives to meet and exceed Green Thumb’s wholesale objectives
  • Must be available nights, weekends, and during regular business hours for in-market administrative tasks, meetings, field audits, consumer engagement activity, events, and training.
  • Ensure stores have proper inventory levels through sales tools, smart communication, and in-store visits
  • Build and Manage Retail Education programs regarding RISE, Green Thumb products, and the overall industry. Monitor the market to observe emerging trends and competition.
  • Oversee all functions of the sales lifecycle, including sales forecasting, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations, and approvals
  • In partnership with CGM, develop annual and quarterly revenue plans, prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and yield performance, and develop annual and quarterly sales plans.
  • Attend cannabis industry trade shows, conferences, conventions, and other professional events to stay current on industry trends and interact with potential and existing customers.


Qualifications


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience of P&L and budget management
  • 4+ years of outside sales, preferably in consumer packaged goods (food & beverage, preferred)
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry, regulations, market trends, and competition is highly preferred
  • Possesses a high level of critical thinking
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules, and regulations and a passion to further their experience and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness
  • 1+ year of direct people management experience
  • Experience working in sales management systems (i.e., Salesforce)
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
  • Proven ability to build and execute a sales strategy to generate and develop new business
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales quotas


Additional Requirements


  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must pass any and all required background checks
