General Summary

The Parking Attendant is cross trained to provide multiple functions, including cash collection, patient, visitor and employee parking service, valet parking, and light parking facility maintenance, direction and information. Works all field positions to maintain high quality service standards. Trained to respond immediately to parking and customer related emergencies, equipment / computer failures.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Fee Collection

  • Perform bank count before and after each shift
  • Recognize all types of parking validations
  • Deposit all collected parking fees
  • Provide correct change to customers based on fee computer calculations
  • Appropriately charge the correct fee to customers
  • Assist customers with how to properly use parking equipment
  • Maintains quality customer service standards for patient, visitor and employee parking services
  • Complete cashier report sheet daily

Valet Parking

  • Deposit all collected parking fees
  • Complete valet report sheet daily
  • Park customer vehicles in designated parking area
  • Maintains quality customer service standards for patient, visitor and employee parking services
  • Appropriately charge the correct fee to customers
  • Assist with keeping the fire lanes clear
  • Inspect all customer vehicles prior to accepting responsibility
  • Perform bank count before and after each shift

Parking Maintenance

  • Inspect campus for safety hazards and report any deficiencies to Parking Manager for review and resolution
  • Assist with light parking facility maintenance as needed
  • Complete attendant report sheet daily
  • Inspect parking facilities and equipment and submits work request to Parking Manager for review and resolution
  • Perform cleaning functions as needed including but not limited to trash and debris

Support

  • Assist with keeping the fire lanes clear
  • Assess level of available parking spaces and keep manager informed
  • Provide direction and information as needed
  • Monitor restricted parking areas and report any violations to manager

Qualifications


Education and Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Valid State Driver’s License (Required)

Patient Safety

Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital and department patient safety initiatives

  • Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
  • Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
