Job Description
Safety Valve TechnicianTEAM Industrial Services is seeking a Safety Valve Technician for a full-time position in the Mobile, AL area.
General Summary
Perform complete over-haul and testing of all manufacturers’ pressure relief valves to include: Farris, Consolidated, Crosby, Anderson-Greenwood and others. Execute trouble-shooting and testing in shop and field environments. Directly reports to the Operations Manager.
Essential Job Functions
  • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern.
  • Directly communicates with customers.
  • Ensures all testing and repair reports are in compliance with quality system and National Board Inspection Code criteria.
  • Performs pressure relief valve repair in accordance to TEAM’s National Board Inspection Code approved quality manual.
  • Works autonomously in valve repair process.
  • Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM’s Core Values.
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 3- 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Trevitest, EVT, AVK, or other in-line test equipment preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of the ASME and NBIC codes.
  • Pressure Relief Valve Manufacturers Training Courses and/or certifications, National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors training course preferred.
  • Education preferred: high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 0 to 30% minimum travel requirement.
Work Conditions
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • Position is based out of a branch or site location.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to investigations.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
  • Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
This position offers a relocation bonus to assist with relocation if needed.
Anticipated compensation for this role is $41,000-$93,000 per year plus benefits.
Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the pay range for this role when being hired into our locations in Colorado. Team reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications and geography.
