What you will do:
The Safety Specialist will partner with the Plant Safety Manager to lead assigned aspects of the Safety program. Support includes, but is not limited to, Safety communication (written and verbal), training championship (including developing and presenting modules). Metric tracking and trend analysis, recordkeeping support, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, and worker comp case management. This role will be key in supporting all aspects of the TCCA safety program. The role will require interaction at all levels within TCCA.
Here’s a day in the life:
· Assist stakeholders with incident investigations for quality assurance
· Facilitate and support Emergency responder programs as needed
· Facilitate TCCA leaders in developing opportunities for safety engagement by all TCCA employees
· Collaborate with stakeholders for consultation and participation of safety and health program improvements
· Conduct daily/ monthly/quarterly/ annual audits to as needed and collaborate with key stakeholders on trends and improvement actions
· Prepare or review specifications of orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards, as audited for
· Plan, implement, monitor and measure, and continuously improve assigned programs and processes
· Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and recommended action plans for stakeholders
· Maintain appropriate records and other required documentation
· Develop and present safety trainings and report outs as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· College Degree; or one to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Have BCSP recognized Safety certification or in actively pursuing such certification.
· SharePoint, MS Outlook, Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Point, familiar with state and/or federal Occupational Safety regulations
· Ability to work autonomously
· Demonstrate excellent time-management skills
· Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible working on multiple projects simultaneously
· Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public
· Communicate effectively
· Must be computer literate with good analytical skills
· Regular and consistent attendance
