About the Job

At Mississippi Lime Company safety is top priority, we value our employees and their safety above all else. Our Safety Manager will work closely with the Safety Director to guide the rest of the safety team to plan and implement programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses. Develops accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization. They will also coordinate safety activities, through Safety Specialists, to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work and communicate well with personnel at all levels of the
  • Knowledge: Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment tools.
  • Experience: 5 years’ experience in a safety role with demonstrated progression.
  • Education: Safety BS/BA Degree required

Preferred Qualifications

MSHA and/or OSHA manufacturing experience preferred. Underground mining experience desired.

Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines. Good working
knowledge of rules and regulations put forth by the Federal Mine Safety and Health
Administration (MSHA).

  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and web-based safety platforms like KPA. Practical proficiency in industrial Hygiene sampling and monitoring.
  • Ability to produce reports and develop relevant safety policies.
  • Attention to detail.
