The Opportunity: Lead the safety and security team at the companies mining operation in Arizona. Responsible for the development and ongoing management of safety systems and training programmes to enable the business to meet its long and short term objectives.

This company operates multiple mine sites and processing facilities throughout North and South America, and is recognized for its strong leadership and high standards which you will be responsible for upholding.

Salary: $95k - $120k + Excellent Benefits

Reporting to: Mine General Manager

Key Focus:

• Hazard Identification and Incident Prevention
• Safety Training as required in OSHA / MSHA
• Develop SOPs, JAQs, and training programs etc
• Provide security expertise to minimize losses
• Hold regular safety meetings
• Lead the development of the Site Safety Management Plan
• Promotion of Health & Safety across mining operation
• Provide support to the management team in all OH&S matters
• Incident response and investigation reporting

Core Competencies:

• Valid driving license
• 5-10 years safety leadership experience
• Leads by example
• Computer skills / System knowledge
• Willing to travel as required
• OSHA/MSHA knowledge and certificates
• Confident communicator / Relationship builder
• Understanding of safety systems
• Mining / Mineral Processing experience
