ENERCON is a multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental services firm dedicated to driving efficiency and sustainability throughout energy-related industries.
Due to continued growth, our Power Delivery group is seeking a Safety Inspector in our Tampa location .
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
- Manage safety compliance on electrical distribution construction projects, including subcontract personnel, for federal OSHA requirements, as well as state, local and ENERCON Corporate safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to work locally in the field 85% of the time
- Lead ENERCON’s commitment to excellence in safety on all assigned projects
- Provide training and guidance to construction inspection team on safety regulations, best practices, risk mitigation, incident investigation and management, reporting procedures and compliance.
- Conduct safety audits and compliance checks on a regular basis.
- Must be available to work assigned storm duty, which could include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel.
- Ensure all safety incidents are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications / skills
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, best practices, techniques, and safety protocols for the electric transmission and distribution industry.
- Currently have or could obtain at least one of the following or similar certifications (CIH, CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSP)
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and communicate plans, protocols, and other safety related documents to a variety of professional backgrounds.
- Ability to develop computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and others.
- Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others with a proven record of responsible behavior.
- BS Degree in related field and 8 years of journeyman lineman and/or safety leadership experience, OR certification and 10 years of journeyman lineman and/or safety leadership experience.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to make decisions within the range of responsibility of this position.
- Must have a positive attitude and a strong customer focus.
Employment requirement
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
