This includes the manufacturing of medium-power transformers, mobile transformers, mobile electrical substations, trailers, and unitized substations. We offer power transformers for utility applications including power and distribution, transmission voltages, system ties, and automatic voltage regulations, as well as industrial applications. Delta Star also provides comprehensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service business unit, ensuring our customer's transformers and mobiles maintain peak performance.


Purpose


Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures. Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.


Main Responsibilities


  • Ensures compliance will all applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained, prepared and reported according to established internal and regulation guidelines
  • Responsible for emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures and development of work safety standards
  • Serves as a consultant and technical support to plant staff to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations
  • Manages Workers' Compensation program and monitors lost-time injuries


Responsibilities & Duties


  • Identifies, develops and implements strategic environmental and safety initiatives for establishing external competitive advantages
  • Obtains operational permits and represents the company during negotiations with regulatory agencies on permit conditions, variance or other environmental areas
  • Participates in trade associations and on various task forces to assist in the development of environmental laws and regulations
  • Participants in OSHA inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures
  • Oversees and facilitate the S5S program and monthly safety committee meetings
  • Prepares regulatory submittals for permits and environmental impact statements
  • Trains employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Maintains current SDS sheets for all products used
  • Manages environmental activities of consulting firms
  • Advises management of the impact of proposed regulations and recommends potential compliance strategies
  • Prepares, maintains and submits all necessary safety reporting requirements
  • Performs complex environmental work requiring exercise of independent analysis and judgment
  • Works as a liaison between regulatory agencies and other company departments
  • Helps to plan and oversee safety aspects of layout of equipment, office and production facilities
