About Us: Do you want to get in on the ground floor of a fast growing, VC backed, robotic logistics company? Do you like building complex things? Do you want to work with a great team? Do you have a foundation in mechanical and/or electrical fabrication? Then join Pickle Robot! Founded here in Cambridge, we are teaching off-the-shelf robot arms how to pick up boxes and play tetris with them. At Pickle, our goal is to work alongside people in the very messy world of the loading dock, reducing the backbreaking human effort that goes into getting your online orders to your door.


Position Overview: We are looking for Manufacturing Technicians at a variety of levels of experience from entry to experienced to help support our growing manufacturing line of Truck Unloading robots. You would work under the guidance of one of our experienced fabricators to build and assemble complex robots with a high degree of accuracy using a variety of tools and techniques.


Responsibilities


  • Assemble complex robots as part of our Truck Unload manufacturing process
  • Identify and debug problems in processes, products, equipment and work for solutions
  • Be willing to contribute to functional specs and participates in design reviews
  • Perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up, calibration and troubleshooting tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies
  • Work with a team of engineers, builders, and operations to deliver quality products
  • Work from BOM, assembly drawings and/or verbal instructions to repair or modify assemblies
  • Maintain production machines and equipment to ensure the production area is safe to work, productive, and has required inventory
Specific familiarity with at least some of the following


  • Tape measure and combo square
  • Understanding of fasteners and locking hardware
  • Torque settings
  • Mag drill, drill press, hand drill, impact driver
  • Repetitive process and production work
  • Drilling and taping
  • Hoisting and rigging tools and materials Pallet jack, auto jacks, engine hoists
  • Hex wrenches, sockets wrenches, torque wrenches
  • Metric and Imperial units of measurement
  • Organized and clean as much as you are able given deadlines
  • Light carpentry
  • Hoisting and rigging experience Flexibility and problem solving skills
  • Porta band, band saw, files
  • Extruded aluminum
Required Skills and Experience


  • Flexibility - things don’t always go according to plan and you will frequently need to pivot and adapt
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistent with OSHA guidelines
  • Can communicate work status, progress, blockers and anticipated remaining time needed
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings and dimensions
  • Willing to ask for help when needed
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude or experience
  • High School diploma or GED certification
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Forklift certification, or willingness to learn, a plus
  • Eager to learn and grow your skills
  • Likes working on a team
