Job Description
1. Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and holds a current Arkansas licensure as a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse.

2. Training and Experience: Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and, generally, no greater than 3 months.

3. Job Knowledge: Demonstrates competency and knowledge to assist the physician with procedures and minor surgeries.
Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but not limited to administering treatments and medication, collection of patient data relevant to the plan of care/problem list, collaborating with other healthcare providers and providing education to patients and/or significant others.

4. Character Traits: To be successful in this position, the nurse must possess these traits:
a. Alertness to the patient's medical, emotional and physical needs.
b. Attentiveness to the performance of nursing skills giving their undivided attention.
c. Compassion to invest whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others.

DESCRIPTION:
Under the direct supervision and delegation of the physician, the nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care. Preps for procedures, anticipating what medical supplies will be required. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as a resource nurse when oriented and so directed. Supports the organization's mission, vision and values. Applies knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity, along with their spiritual and emotional needs into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
