Rn Or Lpn - Telephone Triage Nurse

Esse Health is the largest independent physician practice in the St. Louis Metropolitan area with over 100 physicians, in 42 locations serving nearly 130,000 patients. Esse Health is currently seeking a full-time RN or LPN to perform phone triage and other duties for Gastroenterology Consultants on Kennerly, 63128. Summary: The Telephone Triage Nurse triages patient questions/problems, consults with provider(s), and returns calls. Also provides expert professional nursing care on an as needed basis. Other duties include ordering labs, patient interaction, video capsule studies, occult fecal testing, infusions, and ordering supplies and medications. The ideal candidate with be adept at critical thinking and decision making, be willing to take the lead with some supervision, open to new duties, and glad to help other departments if needed. The person chosen for this position must have a strong work ethic, be dependable, and be a team player. Requirements Preferred Qualifications: Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited RN school of nursing. One or more years of experience, current nursing license in MO, dedication to patient satisfaction, ability to communicate effectively and ability to work compatibly with physicians and other staff members. Physical Requirements: Physical guidelines include ability to sit for extended periods of time while assisting patients/parents via telephone. Ability to teach and assist patients needs and document thru EMR (Electronic Medical Records). Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and staff.
