Job Details


Position is responsible for working closely with supervising physicians to assess and monitor patients’ needs, ensure treatment and care is conducted according to the procedures of the facility, administer medications, and perform other related tasks. Supports medical staff in administering care to patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Patient care tasks responsibilities to ensure that each patient receives the comprehensive and personalized care they need may include the following:


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
  • Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
  • Explain treatments and procedures to patients and families.
  • Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
  • Administering non-intravenous medications.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and hospital or regulatory standards.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members and delegating tasks to appropriate team members.


Education/Licensure Required


  • Department-specific certification requirements must be achieved within the first year of employment.
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with a current North Carolina RN license or RN multistate licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact. BSN preferred.
  • BCLS (Obtained within 30 days of hire)
