Patient Care
90 bed free standing specialty and long-term care hospital offers inpatient mental health programs for adolescents, adults and geriatric populations. Mental Health, Trauma, PTSD,
Developmental Disorders.
Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions.
Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions.
Prepares room for examination (i.e., suction, oxygen, supplies).
Check’s physician orders and exam requisitions using time out procedures.Greets and acknowledges patients using two forms of ID.
Obtains patient history.
Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices and monitors patients during imaging.
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment.
Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patients.
Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
Processes patient information displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed.
Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments.
Job Requirements
Must have 1 yr of psych/behavioral health experience, and experience with Paper Charting.
CPI a plus, not required.
