Richmond Assistant Or Senior Assistant City Attorney - Land Use

The Office of the City Attorney is seeking a full-time, permanent Assistant City Attorney or Senior Assistant City Attorney for its Operations and Development Division to represent the City’s Department of Planning and Development Review. The City’s legal support needs are broad, with an emphasis on land use, zoning, and development. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and counsel to City staff, the City Planning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Commission of Architectural Review, and other land use-related bodies in matters related to (i) the review and processing of legislative applications (e.g., rezonings and special use permits) and administrative land development applications (e.g., subdivisions and site plans) and (ii) the interpretation and enforcement of the City’s zoning ordinance. Additional experience in real estate law is strongly preferred.
