RGM Data Scientist

Role Responsibilities

This role is responsible for working on developing trade promotion forecasting, scenario generation, optimization and other models. This role will involve creating, understanding and deploying ML

models for Beam Suntory, developed internally in collaboration with Revenue Growth Management, Finance, and Commercial teams to incorporate learnings into a sustainable, scalable product. These models will be deployed on Beam Suntory’s platform in Google Cloud while supporting the use of standard Beam Suntory toolsets and libraries. This role will continue to develop machine learning and deep learning models while collaborating with the central IT team in creating best practice approaches to industrialize models, drive technical solutions in which to host models

at scale and help in deploying these models. This role also needs to engage with market business processes and data experts to better understand specific market data nuances and ways in which output of the models will be consumed (e.g. dashboards, integration with other systems, etc.).

This role will support the following activities

• Support development of the trade promotion forecasting models algorithms
• Drive the use of the Platform toolset and to also focus on 'the art of the possible' demonstrations to the business as needed.
• Help hold IT team accountable for milestone deliverables to RGM and Business stakeholders.
• Requires strong communications with RGM, Commercial Teams, and extended IT/ CDO teams
• Support large-scale experimentation and build data-driven models
• Influence RGM and Commercial product teams through data-based recommendations
• Partner with Data Engineers to ensure that proper data is prepared for model consumption
• Coordinate work activities with Business teams, other IT services and as required
• Partner with Data Engineers to help extract models’ best practices and expand Beam Suntory’s RGM digital product
• Help ensure all statistical / ML / AI methods will be developed in a ‘product’ type nature with the ability to lift and shift to other Beam Suntory markets
• Refine requirements that will be used to train and evolve deep learning models and algorithms.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience using DevOps/Cloud Build tools for continuous integration and deployment
• Degree (Master’s or PhD strongly preferred) in computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or other data centric disciplines
• Additional experience in core analytic methods such as predictive modeling, customer segmentation/clustering, network analysis, supply chain optimization, etc.
• Experience of using Jenkins, GitHub flow and artifact repo
• 2-5 years of relevant industry work experience providing advanced analytics solutions strongly preferred
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions like Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform technology stack for Data Analytics (Big Query, Data Warehousing, Spark/Hadoop, Dataflow) is highly valued
