Revenue Cycle Improvement Analyst
The Revenue Cycle Improvement Analyst will be responsible for identifying and managing process opportunities that drive net revenue improvements for Burrell Behavioral Health Revenue Cycle Operations. This role will be responsible for compiling data to support creation of monthly analytics workbooks for clinical operations and revenue cycle focused on gross revenue, denials, cash posting, and coding related metrics ensuring key themes are identified, addressed and escalated appropriately to the VP of Revenue Cycle Transformation Services and Chief Revenue Officer. This role will work closely with Revenue Cycle operations to triage and update technology systems via monitored change management to resolve process inefficiencies and errors in a timely and routine manner. This candidate will appropriately utilize industry information to understand national and regional trends, peer organization innovations, successes, and benchmarks related to revenue cycle, specifically Clearinghouse errors/rejections and payer denials management. This role will advise implementation teams and partner closely with Revenue Cycle leadership, test teams, and other operational stakeholders in the organization. This role will collaborate with the leaders of the Revenue Cycle Management team to effectively lead strategic initiatives. This person will be will assist with successful new business on-boarding to include: implementation, workflow management including arranging for content, technology, and meeting targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Target revenue recovery efforts throughout the reporting areas by analyzing problems and implementing solutions
  • Works with Revenue Cycle leadership to assist with defect triage and remediation
  • Lead the translation of business performance opportunities into actionable documentation/specifications, including use case scenarios, models and conceptual design diagrams to support iterative development
  • Develop work plans as defined by assessment process and benchmark activities
  • Partner with Analytics and Revenue Cycle/Finance management for reporting purposes and opportunities awareness for increase revenue realization
  • Monitor receivables efficiencies establish goals and measure performance
  • Expertise in monitoring efficiencies with Dashboard reporting
  • Manage and maintain business relationships with Operations/Clinical and Revenue Cycle business partners to maximize continued gain-sharing operation
  • Lead delivery of performance improvement of Revenue Cycle operations and technology
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a strong ability to conduct strategic analysis, inclusive of the development of financial models and internal/external research to support business decisions. Advanced computer skills to present information in a meaningful manner
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills that enable comfortable interaction with senior leaders, physicians, peers, and employees
  • Leadership skills including the ability to prioritize and organize work; flexibility and agility to process information and adapt quickly to a changing healthcare environment; create goals and accountability; lead projects from concept to implementation, and achieve results. Strong ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with success at simultaneously managing a variety of complex projects
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills; track record of developing collaborative and effective working relationships with Physicians, Clinicians, Management, Programs, Colleagues, and Peers; ability to motivate, lead, and influence others to successfully implement key operational improvements, strategies, and tactics
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to independently judge, prioritize, and accomplish major job duties and responsibilities assigned by or surfaced to the VP of Revenue Cycle
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle systems
  • Must be able to assume a high degree of independent functioning, demonstrating prudent decision making, autonomy and flexibility
Education and Experience:
  • Strong business skills, including strategic planning, executive presentation skills and business financial acumen
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Effective leadership and communication skills directed at eliciting staff and other stakeholder responses and incorporating these where feasible into current processes and related activities
  • 10+ years of revenue cycle experience in various organizational structures
  • Experience in report generation, data collection systems and analysis techniques
  • Strong analytical, communication and organization skills and the ability to work effectively with other leaders to achieve business objectives is required
  • HIMA certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical management, business administration, health administration or commensurate professional experience highly preferred
