About This Position
We are seeking a Data Operations Analyst within our Revenue Integrity team to join Waystar. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the Revenue Capture Charge Integrity SaaS solution's specialized and proprietary charge capture functionality, working collaboratively with internal resources to ensure the Charge Integrity SaaS Solution is providing excellent value to each client. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the Hospital and Health System revenue cycle. An ideal candidate for this position has an in depth understanding of medical coding for both inpatient and outpatient encounters and can logically identify missed revenue opportunities through either coding variances or missing charges. The ideal candidate can approach problem-solving challenges creatively and independently, has a strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative and team-based environment.
What You'll Do
  • Remain current on CPT, ICD-10 CM and PCS coding requirements
  • Supporting our data driven predictive analytics platform, we also have rule-based anomaly predictions. This position is responsible for identifying and developing rules-based algorithms for CPT Coding variances, DRG Anomaly, and missing charges on provider accounts. Additionally, performing updates and ongoing maintenance to data elements used in our predictive analytics tool based on industry coding updates.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing solutions to complex issues
  • Effectively executes project work plans while retaining the ability to revise plans as dictated by evolving needs and/or requirements
  • Utilize SQL to update and maintain evidence-based charge integrity rules
What You'll Need
  • MS Office skills, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, including the ability to capture and manipulate data at a high level in MS Excel spreadsheets
  • Highly self-motivated, desire to succeed, and strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree or RHIT
  • Knowledge of hospital and physician office charge capture best practices
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills, exercises sound judgment, and commitment to teamwork
  • Understanding of SQL
  • Capable of analyzing large quantities of data, identifying patterns, and summarizing by priority

The Client Operations, Clearinghouse + Payment Operations, and Business Transformation team at Waystar builds brand loyalty and ensures solution adoption and client success.
