Job Description
Summary Of Responsibilities


Responsible for coordinating photography and diagnostic services and performing ophthalmic photography for diagnostic, documentation, and educational purposes in the ophthalmology clinic.


List of Essential Job Duties


  • Coordinates the training of resident physicians and technicians in the role of ophthalmic photography for clinical and diagnostic purposes.
  • Maintains certification to meet criteria for research studies.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as needed.
  • Performs clinical ophthalmic photography and diagnostic photographic studies.
  • Creates patient photo records and maintains a cross-referenced diagnosis/patient database.
  • Conducts recall compliance reviews on all photographic equipment and other ophthalmology equipment.
  • Maintains photo supply and equipment inventory and reviews all requests for supply purchases for clinical operations.
  • Evaluates photographic images for inclusion in the department of ophthalmology’s research and educational projects.
  • Conducts photographic studies and collaborates on photographic services for research projects with other departments.
  • Manages upkeep and review of facility diagnostic equipment, including ophthalmic photographic inventory, visual field testing instruments and ultrasound instruments.
  • Prepares visual media for lectures and conferences and prepares photographs for publication.


Minimum Education Requirements


  • High school diploma
  • One year of experience in ophthalmology or photography procedures.
  • Certification in Retinal Angiography or certification eligible with certification obtained within one year of employment.
