Inventory Planning Manager for a National Confectionery Retailer

The Inventory Planning Manager will be responsible for end-to-end sales and inventory planning for a specific category of business for Lolli and Pops. The Planning Manager may also have supervisory responsibility for planners on their team.


Inventory Planning Manager Responsibilities


  • Responsible for planning the financial for a category of product with the merchant partner to drive and prepare for business demands in the future
  • Responsible for keeping receipts in line with P&L requirements by month
  • Responsible for generating accurate and timely replenishment orders to the warehouse as well as to stores in order to achieve company and department objectives
  • Be proactive and engaged in non-traditional planning tasks like vendor communication for deliveries, floor set review, managing allocations and specific store management
  • Actively participate in pushing forward with new processes and optimizations across planning and merchandising.
  • Oversee appropriate system parameters, profiles, safety stocks, display minimums, etc. to achieve store/item in stock goals and objectives
  • Optimize allocations and identify opportunities or risks in areas of responsibility to all stores to maximize sales, margin and sell through and minimize waste
  • Partner cross functionally within operations, merchandising and inventory control to share information to achieve area goals


Qualifications


  • Strong communication
  • Proactive by nature. This job will have a high degree of autonomy, but equally high expectations that you will take the ball and run with it
  • Comfort with computer systems and technology. You don't need to be a computer scientist, but you need to be really comfortable learning and understanding systems, from Windows to various software packages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong capabilities in Excel
  • Bachelors degree required or 3-5 years equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years retail planning, distribution or stores experience
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a high pace environment
