Summary
The Retail Asset Protection Lead at Carhartt works in conjunction with our Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) partners, as part of the Carhartt Global Investigations and Security Team, to build out our loss prevention strategy and program from the ground floor. This individual is the main driver in building an industry standard asset protection/loss prevention program to support our growing retail operations. This position will focus on overall store safety and security for our associates and consumers to include loss prevention investigations, security technology support and design, shrink reduction, security audits, and workplace violence prevention training.

Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive security and asset protection policies and procedures that support the overall goal of reducing risk to our associates and consumers.
Oversee and maintain relationships and contracts with vendors related to store security technology and contract guard forces.
Establish strong working relationships with store associates and leaders to support all asset protection programs to achieve our overall business objectives.
Organize, develop, and lead the security and asset protection training for store teams.
Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement through drills, reviews, or assessments.
Identify and investigate criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents, and instances of loss. Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify as warranted.
Maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies and other security professionals to promote cooperation and information sharing to include participation in regional Organized Retail Crime (ORC) groups.
Manage all external theft cases delivering complete and robust casefiles that could support prosecution across various local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
Develop security plans for on-site and off-site public facing events.
Ensure all asset protection and security related systems are maintained & leveraged appropriately.
Maintain all asset protection records according to policy and support PCI compliance initiatives in partnership with IT.
Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Criminal Justice or Related Field
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in multi-unit loss prevention or security management.
Wicklander-Zulawski and/or Reid Technique certifications preferred or willing to obtain.
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months.
Demonstrated experience in asset protection program building, teaching, training, and implementation.
Ability to receive and manage confidential/sensitive information with the highest level of integrity.
Experience summarizing and documenting investigations findings and recommendations.
Natural disposition to be a self-starter, problem solver, and work with minimal supervision.
Desire to interact with and motivate store teams on the topics of store security, asset protection, and safety.
Demonstrated experience conducting complex criminal investigations.
Experience in using and designing physical security systems (CCTV, Alarms, EAS, etc.).
Experience conducting security reviews/audits.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize work in order of importance and with strong organizational skills.
Technology oriented and proficient with MS Office.
Working Conditions
Willing to work some weekends if necessary
Travel (40%)
Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events.
